Max Liao Bio
Max is a graduate from the 3200 hour Registered Massage Therapy program at Langara College where he gained much of his skills by treating a variety of populations from outreaches such as the West Vancouver Senior Activity Center, Harbour Dance Studio, The Hive Bouldering Gym, Vancouver General’s Spinal Cord Injury Center (ICORD), and St. John’s Hospice.
Throughout his practicum and working experience, he developed a strong belief in the importance of patient centred care, and how everyone from children to seniors, people with sedentary lifestyles to weekend warriors, and from office workers to labour workers can all benefit from massage therapy if the treatment is dedicated to the individual.
Max focuses each treatment session addressing the root cause while paying attention to patient’s current symptoms. His treatments mostly incorporate techniques such as Swedish massage, myofascial and trigger point release, joint mobilization, active and passive stretches. At the end of a client’s visit, he often provides specific home care instructions, which he believes is just as important as the treatment itself.
Outside work, He enjoys playing basketball, skateboarding, cooking, and drawing.
