Jody graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1992 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology. She has been involved in the health care industry for most of her life as an athlete, coach, pharmaceutical representative, instructor and Kinesiologist. Jody then entered the field of Massage Therapy and graduated from Vancouver's West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2000
