Dr. Andrew Baird Bio

Born and raised in northern Ontario, Dr. Baird attended the University of Western Ontario where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology before moving further south (and west) to Australia. He attended the University of Queensland where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree in Brisbane. He completed his post-graduate training in General Practice through James Cook University while living in Bundaberg, QLD, where he worked for 5 years with a group of talented and experienced GP’s. He holds a Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practice (FRACGP). He moved back to Canada in 2019 to be closer to family and is excited to begin seeing walk-in patients and starting family medicine at Infinity Health Centre.

Queensland, “The Sunshine State”, lived up to its name offering its residents ample opportunities to play and stay in the sun. As a result, Dr. Baird has experience with diagnosing and treating skin cancer and a variety of musculoskeletal/sports injuries. He is a strong proponent of a multi-disciplinary team approach to health care and a strong believer in the value of early physical rehabilitation. Australian medicine has a strong focus on the bio/psycho/social model and Dr. Baird also prides himself on managing mental health conditions, namely, depression and anxiety, and working alongside psychiatrists as part of a team to manage other mental health issues.
